Georgette M. Lafleur

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, Georgette was the daughter of the late Manuel and Emily (Girouard) Gonsalves. Mrs. Lafleur was a graduate of New Bedford High School Class of 1951. She worked at South East Home Care as an elder care aide.

She enjoyed shopping, going to the movies, but most of all spending time with her loving family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Gary Lafleur and his wife Brenda of New Bedford; Brian Lafleur and his wife Lori of Acushnet; Carolyn Bisso and her husband Raymond of New Bedford; Cathy Da Silva and her husband Charles of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Kortney, Megan and Molly Lafleur, Gina Phelps and her husband Tyler, Matthew Bisso and 1 great grandchild, Tayanah. She was the sister of the late George and Gilbert Gonsalves.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 9 am at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Joseph-St Therese Parish, Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford, MA. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday (TODAY) from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Georgette’s memory may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
