Gary L. Girard

Born in Wareham, a son of Richard L. “Larry” Girard of Fairhaven and the late Grace (Costa) Girard, he lived most of his life in Fairhaven.

Mr. Girard worked as a mechanic for Glicksman Trucking and AMI Trucking. He enjoyed playing pool, chess and fixing everyone’s car. Gary was also an avid gardener.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica Girard; a son, Jaime Girard; two sisters, Patty Merritt and her husband Travis of Fredericksburg, VA and Susan Blom and her husband Kees of Somerset; a brother, Mark Girard and his wife Linda of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Trenton Souza, Chastity Girard and Devlin Wood; nephews, Andrew Coelho, Jacob and Thomas Girard and niece Elizabeth Blom.

His memorial service will be Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 12 noon in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 11 a.m. – 12 noon.
