Francis M. Clynes Jr., 82, of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Francis and Elizabeth M. (O’Neil) Clynes.
Francis was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton and worked as a Cinematographer for WTEV-6 as well as a Newsroom video photographer for WPRI-12, and WLNE-6 for many years. He was a simple man and loved spending time with his family and the collies he had rescued throughout the years. He enjoyed photography, videography, writing, politics, and was a true historian and advocate for veterans. He was a natural born storyteller and teacher who loved to impart his wisdom onto anyone who would listen with an open mind. His honesty, integrity, and intelligence were something to marvel at. Francis had a different perspective on life and loved to experience new things as well as find unique gifts for his friends and family. Francis will be deeply missed by those who knew him well.
He is survived by his loving sister, Helena Paiva of E. Freetown; nieces, Kathy Paiva of E. Freetown, and Tracey Duval and her husband Dale of Acushnet; great-niece, Kaylee Glidden; great-nephews, Nathan and Noah Gomes.
