Florence L. (Durocher) Lecuyer, age 87, of Acushnet, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 in St. Luke’s Hospital unexpectedly. Born in Acushnet, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Florida (Desorcy) Durocher, she had been a lifelong resident of Acushnet.
She worked in the outpatient and registration department at St. Luke’s Hospital for many years before her retirement in 1991, prior to that she worked for the Acushnet Company.
She is survived by three daughters; Diane Maranda of Jacksonville, FL, Claudette Oney and her husband Floyd of Cape Coral, FL, Patricia Lecuyer of Acushnet, one son; Paul Lecuyer of Acushnet, two sisters; Jeannette Francis of New Bedford, Lillian Fike of Titusville, FL, six grandchildren; Lorrie, Heather, Thomas, Sarah, Lisa, and Matthew, four great-grandchildren with one on the way, and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Edward Lecuyer and sister of the late Virginia Blais, Yvonne Sirois, Gerard Durocher, and Cora Monast.
Her Funeral will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 at 8:00AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
