Fern was a beautiful, strong, determined person with an infectious smile and a life of the party personality. Fern was a true diva and always made her presence known when she entered a room. She always made a lasting impression. She was truly the best sister anyone could ever have been lucky enough to have. She was an amazing, dedicated mother, wife, daughter, aunt and godmother. She was loved by many and will be forever missed.
Fernanda was born in the Aҫores, a daughter of Jose and Maria Nunes of New Bedford and a 1990 graduate of New Bedford High School. She was an Assistant Manager for Hannoush Jewelers in Taunton for 23 years, she enjoyed traveling and cherished the time spent with her family.
She was the devoted wife of Michael and the loving mother of Sydney and Avery; the sister of Paula Del Ponte and her husband Vic of Gales Ferry, CT and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:00AM in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Keeping with Fernanda’s wishes, public visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME in New Bedford.
