Born in Fairhaven, daughter of the late Emmanuel and Anna (Anctil) Prudhomme, she was raised in New Bedford and lived most of her life in East Freetown. She was a graduate of Holy Family School class of 1951.
Mrs. Cusson had worked as a typist for Morse Twist Drill for many years. She was also a food service worker for the Freetown/Lakeville School district until her retirement.
Estelle was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was happiest when spending time with her family and hosting holiday gatherings, cookouts, and clam boils. She was a deaconess at Mullein Hill Baptist Church in Lakeville and loved her church family. She often cooked and prepared meals for those in need.
She is survived by her children, Michael Cusson and companion Risa Gerrish of East Killingly, CT, Richard Cusson of East Freetown, Daniel Cusson and wife Lynne of Lakeville, Lisa Begley and husband Timothy of New Bedford, John Cusson and wife Theresa of New Bedford, Jeanne Richard and companion Kenneth Couto of East Freetown and Carolyn Roberge and husband Jason of East Freetown; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur Prudhomme, Louise Sansoucy, Rita Stefanski, Claire Souliere, Annette Demers, Rene, Henry and Frank Prudhomme and Pauline Renaud.
Estelle will be laid to rest by her late husband’s side at the Veterans National Cemetery, Bourne. Her funeral and burial will be private to immediate family and relatives due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are strict guidelines that must be adhered to for the safety of everyone.
