Ernest J. Bourgeois

Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Philias and Anna (Velmure) Bourgeois, he lived most of his life in New Bedford. He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

Mr. Bourgeois worked as a press operator for Acushnet Company for many years. He also worked for Pacific Coal & Lumber. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside running or riding his motorcycle. His family will remember him as a loving and wonderful man.

He is survived by his son, James E. Bourgeois of New Bedford; two granddaughters, Sherry L. Boule and Kelly A. Bourgeois; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roland, Normand, Dora Bourgeois, Theresa Buckley, and Jeannette Jardin and the grandfather of the late Jody and Michelle Bourgeois.

His funeral will be Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 8 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a funeral mass at 9 am in the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 121 Mt.
