Elsie Gabriel

Born in New Bedford, Elsie lived in Dartmouth most of her life before moving to Tiverton seven years ago. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Amelia (Mendes) Torres.

Mrs. Gabriel worked as a hairdresser until her retirement.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a sister Ida Beaulac of New Bedford, a brother Joaquim " Jack " Torres and his wife Gertrude of Westport and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Monday, December 12, 2011 from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA at 9am followed by a funeral mass at 10 am at St George Church, 12 Highland Avenue, Westport, MA. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-7 pm. Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery.
