Edward G. Andrade

Edward G. Andrade, age 96, of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Lacombe) Andrade, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in Dartmouth, the son of the late Daniel G. and Esther (Caton) Andrade, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.

Edward was a proud Veteran of WWII , worked at Morse Shoes, and retired from Fragozo after forty- one years. He was an avid golfer and won the 4-Ball in 1972 at Reservation Golf Club. Edward loved people in general and loved making them laugh. He had a contagious smile that will be deeply missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Rita, he is survived by his daughter, Sheila Davidson and her husband James of Mattapoisett; his grandson, James Davidson Jr. and his wife Kara of Virginia; his great-grandson, Cooper, and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Gabriel The Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745 for family and friends to attend. Everyone is to go directly to church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in the Chapel.
