Doris E. LeBlanc

Doris E. (Lamontagne) LeBlanc, 90, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at home. She was the wife of the late J. H. Louis LeBlanc and daughter of the late Leo and Blanche (Collette) Lamontagne and sister of the late Leo A. J. Lamontagne.

She was a lifelong resident of New Bedford, a graduate of St. Anthony High School, loved playing Bingo, traveling, taking occasional trips to casinos and her weekly visits with her best and longtime friend, Claire.

She was the Heart and Soul of the family and always looked forward to “The Next Family Party”, of which there were many. Those who knew her will remember her devotion to her family, her positive attitude, her love for chocolate and her unique/silly sense of humor.

Things that we will miss: Her Chocolate Bundt Cake at Christmas; her Boston Baked Beans and Graham Cracker Brownies; how she was always thinking how to make others smile; her ability to complete Sudoku (in pen) in record time and did we mention her love for Godiva Chocolate?

She will be greatly missed by “her Favorite Son” Louis LeBlanc and his wife Donna of New Bedford and “Her Favorite Daughters”: Lillie LeBlanc and her partner Carol of Bellingham, Janine Batcheller and her husband Mark of Grafton, Corinne Silva and her husband Jeffrey of New Bedford, Elaine McCarthy and her husband Joseph of Acushnet, Leona Corrigan and her husband Douglas of Acushnet, Patricia Raposa and her husband Richard of New Bedford, Susan Frade and her husband Russell of Freetown, and Jacqueline Antunes of Acushnet.

She was the best MEMERE to her 24 grandchildren; Aimee Welch, Jessica Nault, Peter, David, Michael, Steven & Thomas Batcheller, Kevin & Eric Silva, Elizabeth Emerzian, Sean, Ryan & Evan McCarthy, Andrew Corrigan, Jillian Cote, Louis & Craig LeBlanc, Andrea & Kristin Raposa, Jared & Jocelyn Frade, Jordyn, and Devyn & Reece Antunes.

Grand-Memere to 17 great-grandchildren; Sidney & Zach Nault, Alex Welch, David Jr., John, Henry, James, Chase, Ava & Ryan Batcheller, Travis Silva, Peter Emerzian III, Skylar LeBlanc, Samara, Nora & Lenix Cote, and Harper Corrigan.

Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:30pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Everyone is to go directly to the church. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
