Doris Brites

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Edmond and Alice (Lebvre) LaPorte, she lived in Acushnet before moving to New Bedford in 1964 and worked as a Stitcher in the textile industry for many years. Doris’s favorite times were spent with her family.

She is survived by one daughter Pauline Santos and her husband David of East Freetown, one sister; Rose Carrier and her husband Donald of New Bedford, three grandchildren; Kathy Pringle and her husband James of Acushnet, Joanne Carrier and her husband Michael of Freetown, David Santos Jr. and his wife Elisa of Assonet, eight great-grandchildren; Geoffrey, Devin, Jacob, Logan, Nathan, Amy, Ethan, and Marissa and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Raymond, Alfred, Ernest, Oscar, Irene, Rita, and Yvonne.

Private services are in the care of the Rock Funeral Home.
