Donald C. Madeiros

Born in Fairhaven, he was the son of the late Philip and Minnie E. (Sanford) Madeiros.

Donald was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and worked for the New Bedford Water Department for several years until his retirement. In his earlier years, Donald was a member of the United States National Guard and was later employed by Baby G. Farms for over 30 years. He enjoyed coaching his children, grandchildren, and area youth for many decades with the Whaling City Youth Baseball League. Above all, Don deeply loved his children and grandchildren. They will cherish all the moments of laughter shared together.

He is survived by his loving children, Marcie Letendre and her husband Ernest of New Bedford, Craig Madeiros and his wife Kimberly of Winter Garden, FL, Leith Madeiros and his wife Zeina of E. Freetown, Janele Goldman and her husband David of New Bedford, and Keira Marcelino and her husband Felipe of New Bedford; eleven grandchildren, Brittany, Zachary, Andrew, Laura, Spencer, Ryan, Noah, Nathan, Tara, Emmett, and Alex; his brother, Kenneth Madeiros and his wife Connie of Feeding Hills, MA, and several nieces and nephews. Don was the brother of the late Dorothy Linkiewicz, Philip Madeiros, Eleanor Hardin Zeude, and Susan Valencia.

The family wishes to thank the staff at CareOne New Bedford, Ascend Hospice and close family friend, Bill Tucker.
