Diane M. Poulin

Diane M. (Coyle) (Bumpus) Poulin, 74, of New Bedford, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Richard Poulin with whom she shared 7 years before and 17 years of marriage.

Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late John and Jane (Scott) Coyle, she had resided in New Bedford.

She was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and received a certificate from Kinyon Campbell Business School.

Mrs. Poulin had worked as a customer service representative at IMTRA and Regal Beloit and as a computer operator at Chamberlain Manufacturing.

Diane was a lifelong active Member of the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church where she was an Assistant to the Pastor for a time, a long time Secretary for the IMC Management Council and a member of Agawam Chapter and Cortez Allen Orders of Eastern Star.

Diane enjoyed her retirement hanging out at Little Phoenix Restaurant making new friends, attending Church and functions and traveling with her husband around the state to masonic functions. She was dedicated to her family and was also known for being a kind and generous loving person.

Surviving in addition to her husband Richard is a son, Joshua Bumpus and his partner Tom Damiano of New Bedford; three stepdaughters, Michelle Poulin and partner Bill Machado of Dartmouth, Danielle Poulin of New Bedford and Bobbie Haskell and her husband Daniel Haskell of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Jacob and Kyle DeSouza; and her former husband George Bumpus. She was predeceased by her sister, Sandra J. Coyle.

A Memorial Service and celebration of Diane’s life will be held at a later date when it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, 67 Main St., Acushnet, MA 02743.
