

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of David J. Guilbeault, 57, of Acushnet, MA who passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Leonard and Theresa (Delano) Guilbeault, he had resided in New Bedford for most of his life before moving to Acushnet.
He was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Bristol Community College.
David enjoyed working as an assistant crew chief at Shaw’s Supermarket for 35 years until he was forced to stop due to his illness.
David was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. David was known for his generosity and unsolicited acts of kindness. His nature was loving and giving. His heart was made of pure gold.
Known as a bargain hunter and deal seeker, David was always available to lend a helping hand. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving family, especially his granddaughters.
His family includes a daughter, Melissa Taylor and husband Christopher; two granddaughters, Leighton and Audrey Taylor all of Rochester; eleven siblings, Linda Guilbeault and her longtime companion Roger Masson who was David’s father-figure and caregiver, James Guilbeault and wife June, Paul Guilbeault and wife Cindy and Peter Guilbeault all of Acushnet, Andrew Guilbeault and wife Polly of Dartmouth, Leonard Guilbeault and wife Maria, Mark Guilbeault and wife Maria, Ann Guilbeault, Carol Gracia and husband Larry and Joseph Guilbeault and close friend Kevin Crabtree all of New Bedford and Daniel Guilbeault and wife Judith of Taunton; an aunt Josephine Delano of New Bedford; many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives and friends.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 9 AM in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
