David Camara

David Camara, age 65 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucrecia (Vieira) Camara, to whom he had been married for 29 years.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Rufino Camara of South Dartmouth and the late Maria Delores (Almeida) Camara, he has been lifelong resident of the city.

David was employed with Baystate Drywall in Freetown for over 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and was an avid storyteller.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father, is his brother Rick Camara and family members Tristan Camara, Kevin Rocha, Holly Venturini, Michael Camara and many other relatives and close friends.

His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by his Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford.
