Christopher J. Spellman

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Audrey Mae (Dewhurst) Spellman.

Chris grew up in New Bedford and, at an early age, became a Master Carpenter. He was a simple,

generous man and quite the jokester to many. Spending time with his family, friends and his grand-dogs,

truly meant the world to him. Watching him work around the house, tell stories and jokes while enjoying

a hot cup of instant coffee and a cigarette, will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his two loving sons, Timothy Spellman of San Diego, CA as well as Devan Spellman and

his wife Ashley of Acushnet; and his grand-dogs, River and Nora. He was a good friend and former

husband to Kelley Alvarez-Dovidio with whom he shared 23 years of marriage. He is also survived by his

older brother Dennis Spellman and the late Bernie Spellman.
