Born in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Stein) Hopkins, he had resided in Virginia, New Hampshire, New York and Arizona, but primarily in Massachusetts.
Mr. Hopkins served in the United States Air Force.
He had worked in the restaurant industry in various capacities.
His family includes three daughters, Charlene Mehegan and her husband Michael of Enfield, NH, Rebecca LaForge and her husband Edward of Holbrook, MA and Elaine Spinale and her husband Mark of Acushnet; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and six nieces. He was predeceased by his daughter, Melinda Pollard, and his siblings, Sharon, Patricia, and Earle Hopkins.
Private services are in the care of the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
