Celeste M. Arruda

Celeste M. (Freitas) Arruda, age 85, of East Freetown, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Oak’s. She was the beloved wife of the late Manual Arruda with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Manual and Maria (dos Santos) Freitas.

Celeste was a homemaker for her cherished family for many years. She enjoyed doing puzzles, card games, eating chocolates and scratch tickets! Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren with whom she adored.

She is survived by her loving children, Maryann Arruda and her partner George Flynn of New Bedford, Dianna Westgate and her husband Steven of E. Freetown, David Arruda and his wife Karen of Lakeville, Richard Arruda of Westport and former daughter in-law, Karen Joy Arruda. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mom, you will be missed but we shall meet again. Until then, your love lives on.
