Born and raised in Acushnet, the daughter of Sophie (Walega) Ras-McDonald and the late Chester K. Ras, she lived her adult life in New Bedford before moving back to her childhood home in Acushnet.
Carol earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Design from S. M. U. now U-Mass Dartmouth.
For 17 years, she had worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a P.C Technician in the M.I.S. Department and most recently as a data security specialist.
Carol was a talented artist who loved gardening, bird watching, nature walks, time at the beach and the lakes of New Hampshire. She shared her home and cared for many pets in her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling and cherished her trips to Egypt, Peru and Italy. She lived life to its fullest.
Her family includes two nieces, Rebecca (Ras) Pacheco and her husband Chris of E. Freetown and Christine Ras and Jillian of Westport; a great- niece, Amanda Pacheco and a great-nephew, Ryan Pacheco of E. Freetown; her beloved aunt Alice Belanger of Acushnet; a sister in-law, Diane of Westport; her dear friend, Kathy Langford of Mattapoisett; and many beloved family members and friends. She was the sister of the late William Ras.
