Born and raised in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Calvin C. and the late Madalena (Giammalvo) Carr. After graduating from New Bedford High School, she went on to earn her teaching degree from Worcester State College. Upon graduation she became an elementary school teacher for a short time before staying home to raise her son. A few years later she returned to the workforce at Cameo Curtains where she worked her way up to managing their computer department. She later moved on to Fibre Leather Corp and finally ended her career as a customer service person at Davico Manufacturing.
An eternal artist, she spent much of her younger years traveling around the Northeast playing the accordion and later on in life found pleasure in painting and arts and crafts. During baseball season she could always be found with her Yankees cap on watching the game. A bigger Yankees fan, you couldn’t find.
True happiness though, came from spending time with her late dogs Smokey and Finnegan and, of course, spending time with her Grandson Colin.
Carol had been a communicant of the Holy Name of The Sacred Heart Church of Jesus.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Flynn and his wife Karen (Greding) and Grandson Colin Flynn all of Acushnet as well as her favorite Aunt and Uncle, Julie and Will Desnoyers of Mattapoisett.
Her Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 8:30 A.M. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a 10 A.M. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 121 Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
