Born in New Bedford, Brad was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Pires was a 1966 graduate of New Bedford High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Salem State College. Brad went on to serve his country honorably, serving in National Guard and then the Army Reserves. He was employed at Texaco as an Oil Sales Rep, then pursued additional salesman and craftsman positions in other companies. After retirement, he enjoyed chauffeuring airport runs and continuously worked in other industries.
Brad’s children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed spending time together with the family on dinner occasions, especially on the holidays. Prior to his brother’s passing, Brad was close with Brian; spending lunch together weekly. Brad was a very proud veteran and loved the American Flag. In Brad’s youth, he was a Roller Skating Champion at Lincoln Park. He enjoyed traveling, sailing, golfing, fishing, tennis, and flying airplanes. Being in warm weather, sitting at the beach watching the waves and planes take off took up his spare time. He was a loving, caring, and compassionate man that will be missed by many.
He is survived by his loving children, Brittney Teixeira of New Bedford, Kayla Teixeira of New Bedford, (twins) Paige Teixeira, and her fiancé Logan Bussiere of Fairhaven, Brandon Teixeira and his fiancé Amber Schaffer of New Bedford. His grandchildren, Carson Camara, Clayton Nickerson, Ella Bussiere, Kinsley Teixeira, Rowen Pires Teixeira, and Dahlia Ribeiro; as well as, his longtime best friend Robert Hontz.
