Bernadette A. Robitaille

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Darius and Illumina (Roy) Verrier, she attended St. Anthony’s School in New Bedford and Campbell Business School, where she met her late husband Lionel. Mrs. Robitaille was a Secretary with Mars Bargainland for several years.

She was a lifetime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, where she was one of the founders of the Religious Education program, a member of the Woman’s Craft Guild making fine crafted items for the annual church fair and a Marian Medal Recipient. An accomplished seamstress and quilter, Mrs. Robitaille was the co-founder of the Knit and Purl Club.

She is survived by her seven children Paul Robitaille and his wife Jacqueline of Acushnet, Patrick Robitaille and his wife Katherine of Acushnet, Lionel Robitaille and his wife Donna of Fairhaven, Rosalie Stabell and her husband Gerald of New Bedford, Bernadette Hanks and her husband Raymond of Mattapoisett, Denise Robitaille of Southborough and Aimée Lafleur and her husband Thomas of Acushnet; 26 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Robitaille was also the mother of the late Madeleine and Phillip Robitaille and sister of the late Florian and Conrad Verrier.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
