Arthur P. Landry, 58, of New Bedford, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 after a brief bout with cancer. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Lavimoniere) Landry and the son of the late Roland R. Landry and Therese O. (Labadie) Landry.
Formerly from Fairhaven, he had moved to New Bedford in 1991 and attended Dartmouth Bible Church.
He was employed by the Acushnet Co. in New Bedford.
A Fairhaven High School graduate, Mr. Landry attended Southeastern Massachusetts University and received an Associate’s degree in Computer Technology from Fisher College. He was a member and past officer of the New Bedford Revolver and Rifle Club, the New Bedford Host Lions Club, the Fairhaven Varsity Club and Quittacus Masonic Lodge; a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, GOAL, the New Bedford Council of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Landry was also a member of the New Bedford Rod and Gun Club, Sippican Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed golf, camping, photography, fishing, target shooting, billiards and spending time with family and his pets.
Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Lori A. Monteiro and her husband Lee of Dartmouth, three brothers, George R. Landry of Rochester, Roger A. Landry and Carl P. Landry of New Bedford, two sisters, Yvonne A. St. Pierre of Fairhaven, and Michele C. Birtwell of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2-5pm with a Celebration of Life at 5pm in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
