Antonio S. Medeiros

Antonio S. Medeiros, 81, of Acushnet, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Pereira) Medeiros, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Sao Miguel Azores, he was the son of the late Gaudino and Maria (Moniz) Medeiros.

Antonio worked in Construction for many years. He was a proud and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed taking care of his animals on his farm, gardening, soccer games, watching old Western movies, and game shows, especially Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal. Spending time with his family was very important, and he will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Maria, he is survived by his loving sons, Gary Medeiros of Acushnet, Michael Medeiros and his wife Deborah of New Bedford, Stephen Medeiros of Acushnet, and Jimmy Medeiros and his girlfriend Gina Brites of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Michaela, Mackenzie, and Marisa Medeiros, all of New Bedford; two great-grandchildren, Kambrie and Koralie Hamel of New Bedford; a brother, Mario Medeiros and his wife Isabelle of New Bedford; a sister, Maria Moniz and her husband Demario of New Bedford; a sister-in-law, Hilda Medeiros, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ronald Medeiros.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 9:00AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St. New Bedford, MA 0276. Burial in Acushnet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 – 7:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
