Ann Marie (Oliver) Guinen, age 73, of Rochester, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Tobey Hospital. She was the loving wife of Ernest Guinen Jr. with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Westport, she was the daughter of Frank and Belmira (Leite) Oliver, she graduated from Westport High and later attended Catherine Gibbs.
Ann Marie worked as a Realtor for many years, including Birchwood Realty, Neves and Cashman, Cashman & Co. and most recently Century 21. She continued to work in Real Estate right up until her passing, refusing to retire as she took great pride in the friends she made and the ability to help individuals finding their forever home. As a result, she was given gifts, invited to weddings and events, and dinners, as many of those she helped, considered her a friend.
She enjoyed cross-stitching, going to the Casino, and playing golf. She was a fantastic cook and hosted Thanksgiving dinners for more than 50 years, which included her legendary apple pie. Her proudest accomplishment was her family and being a Mom and Grandmother. Whether it was a hockey game, baseball/softball, dance recital or pageant, she was there to root on her children and grandchildren. You could hear the constant comments and cheers throughout the entire event. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors in addition to her husband, are her loving children, Stephanie Morais and her husband Michael of East Freetown and Scott Guinen and his wife Erin of Rochester; five grandchildren, Brandon, Hayley, Camryn, Madison and Chace; a brother, Frank Oliver and his wife Janice of Westport, and several nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00am in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd. East Freetown.
