Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Philip “Smokey” and Marie A. (Froment) St.Onge she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Alice graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in 1948. Mrs. Saucier was a floor worker at Coin Industrial Laundry. She also worked at Ganvier’s Grocery Store for years where she met her husband. Alice was devoted to her church and was active in the Church choir and she was a Eucharistic Minister. Alice’s greatest joy was being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she fondly referred to as “The Babies”.
The family would like to thank the folks at Alden Court, especially the Whitfield Unit for their love and devotion to her care over the past year and to Beacon Hospice for the added support.
She is survived by her children, Rose-Marie Souza and her husband James of Fairhaven, Anne-Marie Cafferty and her husband Jay of Acushnet, Normand P. Saucier and his wife Becky of Fairhaven, Mark Saucier and his wife Jennifer of Acushnet, and Danny Saucier and his wife Donna of Freetown; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Albert Saucier, Richard Saucier, and Philip Saucier. She was the sister of the late Victor St.Onge and Philip “Sonny” St.Onge.
Her funeral will be Monday, September 19, 2022 at 9 a.m. from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Parish, Main St., Acushnet.
