Alfred Cunha Jr.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Alfred and Mary (Correia) Cunha he lived most of his life in the area.

Alfred worked as a foreman in the fishing industry and was well known on the waterfront. He loved going on trips to New Hampshire and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Pacheco and her husband James of Acushnet; five sons, Alfred Cunha, III of New Bedford, John Cunha and his wife Cynthia of New Bedford, George Cunha and his wife Sue of Acushnet, Gary Cunha and his wife Donna of New Bedford and David Reed of New Bedford. He was the father of the late Rosemarie Moniz and Paul Reed and the brother of the late Richard “Red” Cunha.

His funeral will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 10:30 am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 pm. www.rock-funeralhome.com for online tribute/directions.
