WILLIAM IRVIN WAGGONER died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, April 24, 2016. He was 71. The son of the late Flora Mae Nicholson and William Morris Waggoner, he was born December 14, 1944. He was a native of New Albany, and a graduate of New Albany High School and Indiana University. For the last 25 years, Bill worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Sodrel Truck Lines. Bill was one of the most intelligent and hard-working people you would ever meet. He was a humble and easygoing man who enjoyed the simple things in life, including traveling and spending time with the love of his life, Alicia Waggoner.
Along with his wife, Alicia, Bill’s survivors include his children, Wendey Waggoner, Paige Waggoner Clark, and William Weston Waggoner; step-children, Lee Droppleman, Dan Droppelman (Sarah), and Pamela Carter (Matt); 11 grandchildren, Trey, Zach, Ben, Eveline, Phoenix, Koa, Addison, Hannah, Mary Alice, Will, and Henry; and sisters, Sherry Christiansen (Bo) and Pam Hartfield (Jim).
Visitation will be 12:00 pm ~ 7:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 pm Wednesday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with private burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenville, Indiana.
