William "Bill" Marion Farnsley, age 92, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on, July 11, 2022. Bill was born December 16, 1929, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Elsie and William Farnsley. He was a retiree from the Louisville, Courier-Journal and served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was married to the love of his life Elizabeth "Betty" Farnsley for 69 years.
Bill was a long-time volunteer member of the Fraternal Order Of Police and a man of many talents. He loved listening to music, playing the drums, and building musical instruments. Woodworking, constructing model airplanes, firearms, and shooting sports were also among his hobbies. Bill and his best friend Jim formed the club “The Sky liners”, which exists today.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife Elizabeth “Betty” Clark; five children, Julie Quillo (Ron), Brian Farnsley (Diana), Jane Freeman (Tommy), Bill Farnsley (Debi), and Joe Farnsley; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Joan Tribble. He was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Farnsley.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
