Walter F. Ledbetter Sr

Walter F. Ledbetter Sr, 86 years of age died Sunday March 18th, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Walter was born August 21, 1925 in Livingston, TN to the late James Charles and Loretta Heard Ledbetter. He retired from the U.S. Steel Company in New Albany after some 30 years. Walter was the widower of his wife of some 66 years Geraldine “Jean” Hill Ledbetter who died in August of 2011. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and was an avid fan of Roy Acuff and the Smokey Mountain Boys and was wonderful husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his Seven Siblings: Maude Harvey, Justin and Lola Ledbetter, Ruby Wall, Betty Greene, Ben and Chet Ledbetter.

Roger Ledbetter (Pamela)

Alan Ledbetter (Jennifer) both of New Albany, IN

Nine Grandchildren: John Gehlbach Jr., Greg and Jeff Gehlbach, Renea Nein, Pam Ottersbach,

Amanda Weber, Amy Johnson, Andrea and Shane Ledbetter

Fourteen Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon Thursday March 22nd, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Funeral Service will be 12:00 noon Thursday at the Kraft Spring St. Chapel with interment in Veron Cemetery in New Albany, IN.
