Walter Bryant, Sr. of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away surrounded by his family on March 26, 2025 after a long battle with lung and throat cancer. He was born on March 9, 1942 to the late Edgar Bryant and Madeline Quire Bryant. He had retired from the Salem Leader where he had been pressroom manager.
Walter's hobbies had been hunting, fishing and going to Florida. He enjoyed seeing the ocean but was not real fond of just sitting on the beach. He and his wife (Sue) of 62 year had been able to travel a lot until his health prevented him from doing so. Walter had enjoyed a full life with many simple vacations with his favorite being four trips to Hawaii. He was an amazing father, grandfather and grampy to his great grandchildren.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Ernest (E.T.), Edgar (Dutch), George, Cecil (Joe), William (Bill), Roy Bryant and his sister, Virginia (Jenny) Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; a daughter, Pamela (Jeff) Kramer; a son, Walter (Tommy) Bryant, Jr.; granddaughters, Meagan (Matthew) Douglas and Kristin (Devin) Eberle. He had four great grandchildren, Hadley Eberle, Lainey Eberle, Austin Douglas, and Abigail Douglas. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Brookshire.

Visitation for Walter will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, April 4, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with private entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations in Walter's memory may be made to American Cancer Society.
