Virgil Clint Joiner, 82, of Jeffersonville, Indiana formerly of Chiefland, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Wedgewood Healthcare. Virgil was born in Morgantown, Kentucky to the late Rethel and Geneva Hudson Joiner. He was a Riverboat Captain for over 53 years with Inland Marine Corporation and various other companies. He enjoyed classic rock, old cars and fishing. He was most proud of his family. During his working career, he looked forward to coming home to his family after being on the boat 30 days at a time.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Sue Joiner; a son, Scott C. Joiner; a brother, Hugh Wallace Joiner and two great grandsons, Keegan Logsdon and Luca Joiner.
Virgil is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Logsdon (Tim); his sons, Martin Lewis Joiner (Margaret) and Michael A. Joiner; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Lewis Clark; two sisters, Diane Gable and Kay Level; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Monday, October 30, 2023 and from 9-11 on Tuesday October 31, 2023at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
