Vera Miller, age 94, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born on October 16, 1928, to the late Charles and Anna Shindlebower. Vera was married to the late Marvin Miller Jr.
Vera was a volunteer at Clark Memorial Hospital gift shop for 25 years as well as volunteering at the Culbertson Mansion in New Albany. She worked in retail for many years before retiring. In 2019 Vera moved to the Villages of Silvercrest in New Albany, Indiana, where she was dearly loved and cared for. She was awarded the “Smile of the Month” award on more than one occasion. Vera was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents and husband, Marvin Miller Jr., she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Byrne.
Vera is survived by her children, Sue Harpe (Michael), and Charles “Butch” Miller (Connie); granddaughter, Jennifer Foley; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Voignier (Zach), Stephen Foley, Emma, and Ella Byrne; and niece, Cindy Music (John).
A visitation for Vera will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.
