Vada M. Leidolf Thomas, 84 years of age died Friday May 10th, 2013 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Vada was born April 15th, 1929 in Floyd County, Indiana to the late Earl J. and Minnie Catherine (Striegel) Leidolf. She was the widow of Carl E. Thomas who died in 1985 and retired as a seamstress at the old H.A. Seinsheimer Co. in New Albany. She also worked at both the Stumler Restaurant & Orchard and the Joe Huber Family Farm & Restaurant, both in Starlight, Indiana for some twenty years. Vada was an avid euchre player who played to win. She loved her flower gardens and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Vada will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by a sister, Deanna Smith.
Survivors include her children, Janice “Jan” Sprigler and husband T.J. of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, James L. Thomas and wife Dot of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Daniel D. Thomas and wife Bonnie of Louisville, Kentucky, Carla K. Johnson and husband Kenny of Charlestown, Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Eric, Barry, Jessica, Ellie, Christopher, Jared, Erin and Lucas; 6 great grandchildren, Landon, Chloe, Hunter, Braxton, Grady and Cruz; brother, Alvin Leidolf; sisters, Ruth King and husband Gene and Earlene Dean, all Floyds Knobs, Indiana
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Monday, May 13th and after 8:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday, May 14th at St. Mary of the Knobs Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
