Thomas Daniel Witt Sr.

Thomas Daniel George Witt, Sr. age 84 of Georgetown, Indiana, formally from Chicago, Illinois, was called home to God on October 19, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1938, to the late George and Edith (Knox) Witt and was one of four siblings. Thomas was married to the love of his life for 57 years, Kathleen (Wigginton) Witt. Thomas Witt was a devoted catholic and a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville, Indiana.

Thomas was a loving husband, father, “Papaw”, and great-grandfather. He had the biggest heart and his family was the light of his life. Thomas enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sports activities whenever possible and was always their biggest fan. Thomas loved telling stories and was never at a loss for words. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, financial whiz, trivia guru, history buff, and enjoyed reading. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by one child, “Little Saint;” as well as three siblings, Robert “Bob” Witt, Lyle Witt, and Jane Witt.

Thomas leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen Witt; four children, Kelly Witt, Shannon Witt, Thomas Witt Jr. (Wittney), and Shawn Farnsley (Jason); along with six grandchildren, Makkena Cannon (Dayton), Macie Witt Haley, Landon Farnsley, Trent Farnsley, Dylan Hosp, and Brayden Witt; and one great-grandchild, Emersyn Cannon; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held for Thomas on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.

The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Drive NE, Lanesville, Indiana 47136. Thomas will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
