Sue Dent Phillips

Sue Dent Phillips, 86 years of age passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in New Albany. She was born November 29, 1931 in Cartersville, GA to the late John and Charlotte (Flemister) Dent. Sue was a graduate of Georgia Wesleyan College, a member of Jacobs Chapel Church and was devoted to serving and loving her family. She was a light to be around and enjoyed all of life’s smallest moments. In her early years she and Elliott enjoyed golf at the New Albany Country Club and later at Hidden Creek Golf Club. Thoroughbred racing, cooking, and traveling to Destin, FL were just a few of her many passions in life. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Michael Seaton. Survivors include her husband of 62 years Elliott Phillips, son, Johnny Mac Phillips, daughter, Suzanne Seaton (Mike), granddaughters, Ashley Seaton Houin (Brent), and Charlotte Seaton, great-grandsons, Miles Elliott Houin and Henry Louis Houin. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday and after 11:00 am Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be held 1:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home chapel with private burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing staff and caregivers at Baptist Floyd Hospital.
