94; of New Albany
Funeral services with full military honors for Roscoe Carl “Red” McClure, 94, of New Albany, will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany. Burial with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at New Albany National Cemetery. He died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
He was a native of Corydon, born Oct. 10, 1915, to the late Thomas and Marietta McClure. “Red” formerly worked at I.C.I. America in Charlestown and for some 57 years was a meat cutter and worked at the old Schmidt Market. He was the widower of Marjorie Sims McClure, an Army veteran of World War II and lifetime member of Floyd County VFW Post 1693 in New Albany. “Red” will be missed by his family and many friends who loved him dearly.
Survivors include his children, Jeannie L. Freiberger, of New Albany, Judy Catlett and her husband, Shannon, of Louisville, Carol A. Money and her husband, Chet, of New Albany, and William R. Wisenbaler, of New Albany; grandchildren, Tony, Terry, Shawn, Dean, William, Rhonda, Thomas Jr., Kimberly, Brian, and Patrick; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus/Hospice of Southern Indiana.
