Roger Dale Reynolds, 76, died on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Born in Green County, Kentucky, to Durward C. and Sylovine Bryant Reynolds. He was a longtime resident of Elizabeth, Indiana. He graduated from Western High School in Louisville, earned a B.S. from Western Kentucky University, a Master's and a Specialist in Education degrees at U of L. He served honorably in the U.S. Army, earning a National Defense Service Medal, Expert (Rifle). He was much a loved teacher at Jeffersonville High School for 30 years in Economics, Business and History, and introduced computers to the curriculum.
R.D. had a passion for music and was a deeply devoted historian of Bob Dylan.
He was an outdoorsman and explorer, with a love of hiking and camping. He enjoyed a lifetime full of books and avidly collected Case Knives. Roger was a faithful member of The Breakfast Club for over 55 years.
R.D. met the love of his life, Gabie Davison at Rockford Lane Baptist Church in Shively, where they married in 1968.
A thoughtful, and deeply caring man, Roger was the loving cornerstone of his family and dedicated to his friendships.
With a sharp, intellect and curiosity, R.D. never stopped learning and discovering things that interested him. Engaging and kind, he never met a stranger, and his dry, quick wit, was enjoyed by everyone he encountered. He was adored by many, who were fortunate and grateful to have him in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 57 years, Gabie Davison Reynolds; his children, Roger Dale Reynolds, Jr. (Virginia Campbell), Susette Roark (Michael); grandchildren, M. Ryan Roark and Kelsey Roark Roven (Hayden); Great Grandson, Zen Phoenix Rovan; Sister, Deborah Sue Bridgewater (Gregory); niece and nephew, Elizabeth Sturm (Robert); and Brian Bridgewater (Karrah Aubry); their children; and The Breakfast Club.
Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on Saturday December 28th, from 11a.m. to 1p.m. EST., with memorial service to follow.
