Roger Christian Makowsky

Roger Christian Makowsky, 64, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away at home on March 16, 2023.  He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on January 17, 1959, to the late Dale Kenton and Wilma Jean Rice Makowsky. Chris is survived by his two sons, Kenton (Janna) Makowsky and Kyle (Amber) Makowsky; grandchildren Taylor, Macayla, Riley, Bryce, Evan, Kylee, and Emilee; siblings Amy (Tim) Vissing and Bart (Heather) Makowsky; nephews Nicholas, Jacob, and Nathaniel, and niece Maria. Chris was a graduate of Providence High School and Bellarmine University, where he excelled at baseball and earned a business degree.  For over 40 years, he worked for, owned, and ran Makowsky Oil Company. Chris was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying any time he could spend in the woods or on the water.  He treasured the time he spent relaxing in Okeechobee, Florida.  He also loved animals, especially his beloved dogs Sugar, Lou, and Brinney. Visitation for Chris will be from Noon to 3 on Sunday, March 19th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, 47150.  A brief prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation.  Entombment will take place at a later date at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
