Robert Scott “Bob” Gray, 87, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Autumn Woods Health Campus following a lengthy illness. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Bob was the son of Noble William and Freedia Scott Gray. Bob grew up in southern Indiana in Borden and New Albany and graduated from New Albany High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea at the conclusion of WWII. Following his service in the Army, he followed his father to the Pacific Northwest where he worked as a brakeman on the railroad and for a brief time in the logging operation owned by his father near Drain, Oregon, before returning to southern Indiana in 1948 to marry his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Baker. After his return to southern IN, he worked in insurance and finance before building a career as a sales and manufacturing representative for furniture makers based in the region and raised seven children. Bob was an avid reader and had many interests, but his family was his focus. He was predeceased by one grandson, Neal Gray; sister, Maribelle Fach; and brother, William Gray. The family extends a special thanks to Autumn Woods, especially the Legacy Lane staff, for their outstanding care and support.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm ~ 7:00 pm Tuesday followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. Private burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
