Richard Paul Monroe Jr.

Richard P. “Dick” Monroe, Jr., 73 years of age died Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was born June 30, 1943 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Richard and Wanda (Flora) Monroe, Sr. Dick was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from General Electric, where he worked for 33 years in building #4. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Kruer) Monroe; sons, Mark Monroe (Linda) of Indianapolis, Doug Monroe of New Albany; brother, Larry Monroe (Joyce) of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Kenny Monroe, Sr. of New Albany, Harry Monroe; grandchildren, Erica Cope (Zach), Brad Monroe (Chelsea), Karlie Gaspard (Trey); great grandchildren, Addison Cope, Mia Cope, Jack Thomas Cope, Ben Monroe, Ryan Monroe, Mila Monroe, Emma Gaspard; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial reception will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Memorial Service will be 7:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home chapel.
