Priscilla Dean Hubbard (Charlestown, IN) passed away peacefully on December 28, 2021 with loved ones close. Priscilla was born on July 25, 1941 to Clara Mae Watson and Proctor Smith in Louisville, KY. She was one of three children: Roger (Delores) Smith and Deborah (Tom) Clark.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clara Mae Watson and Proctor Smith, her siblings, Roger Smith and Deborah Clark, and her beloved husband of 62 years, Elmer “Dean” Hubbard.
Priscilla is survived by her uncle, Leonard Jackson, her children: Kerry (Sherry) Hubbard, Lisa (Michael) Howard, Chris (Cheryl) Hubbard; grandchildren: Brittney (Adam) Luckett, Erin Bishop, Wesley (Kayla) Wyatt, Matthew (Maribeth) Wyatt; great grandchildren: Katelyn Luckett, Jackson Luckett, and Sophie Howard; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eager to start her life with her husband, Dean and Priscilla were married just before her 18th birthday, as Dean was being deployed with the Air Force shortly thereafter. After high school, Priscilla worked as a teacher’s aide, assisted Dean with the family farm, and most of all was a dedicated homemaker.
Priscilla enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, traveling, reading, music, arts and crafts, baking, watching her animals play, and watching sports. She was a member of TOPS and cherished the friendships she made over the years.
Priscilla was a wonderful mother and grandmother, not only to her own family, but to so many others. Her absence creates a large void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Priscilla was a member of the Christian faith and ready to reunite with lost loved ones that she missed dearly.
The family would like to thank Norton Brownsboro Hospital for exceptional care.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday and 9:00 am to 10:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
