Perry Blaine Overton, 43, of Milton, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Perry was born November 19, 1978 in New Albany, Indiana to Richard and Holly Overton. Perry was a proud retired Airborne Parachute Rigger Veteran with the United States Army who became disabled during his service. A few years after his discharge from the Army, he continued to play a key role as a key spouse at each Air Force base his family was stationed at, helping the transitions for other spouses to better understand the military culture. He was an expert marksman, a certified armorer in several types of firearms. He dedicated many years and followed his passion for the firearm and ammunition industry making that his life's work. Perry loved the outdoors, camping, hiking and bicycling. Two of his greatest cycling achievements are conquering Mt. Mitchell and Grandfather Mountain (both over 100 miles) in the mountains of North Carolina.
Perry was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Grover "Sonny" Jackson and paternal grandfather, Bobby Overton.
He was a devoted father of two children, Ava and Barrett Overton; step father to Tyler Caldwell; loving son to Richard and Holly Overton; beloved brother to Jess Lewis (Mike); uncle to Kenzie Lewis and Ramsey Davis; grandson to Janet Jackson and Norma Overton; and mother of his children, Kristy. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Cindy Jackson, Penny Kahl, Larry Overton (Teresa) and Robbie Overton (Danielle) and a host of extended family and many friends.
Visitation for Perry will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 15, 2022 at 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. For those unable to attend services, you may join and view services on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/kraftfuneral. Private burial will be in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
