Michael "MRB" R. Banet

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 12-8 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service on Spring Street in New Albany with a funeral mass to be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Michael passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Baptist Floyd Hospital.

Mike was a lifelong resident and native of Floyds Knobs and served on the Layfayette Township Fire Department where he was a firefighter and worked his way up to fire chief for 26 years. He also retired from the printing industry after 42 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Donna Darlene (Fields) Banet; his children, Donna, Justin, and Crystal; grandchildren, Andy, Brandon, Caylee, Tyler, Zachary, Emma, Raelynn, and Stella; mother, Marilyn Banet; brothers, Rex Banet (Veronica), Carl Banet; and sisters, Brenda and JoAnn Banet; along with three godchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Joe” Banet.
