Mary Jane (Maloney) Sparks

MARY JANE (MALONEY) SPARKS, 88, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. The daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Mary Catherine (Niehaus) Maloney, Mary Jane was born November 19, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of The Salvation Army Ladies Ministry, VFW Hobart Beach Ladies Auxillary, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alva M. Sparks, Jr. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Jimmy, Connie, and John, her twin.

Mary Jane was very devoted to her faith and her family. She was the mother to Linda, David, and Dean; mother-in-law to Brian Christiansen, Debbie, and Greta; grandmother to Arron, Tracey, Ryan, and Ian; great grandmother to Jaxon and Molly; and “mom” to so many more. She is also survived by her brother, Edward.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday and 11:00 am ~ 1:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial to following in St. Francis Cemetery in Henryille, Indiana.
