Mary Helen Blake-King

Mary Helen Blake-King passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023. Mary Helen was born in New Albany on November 20, 1930. She retired from Norton Healthcare after a 35 year career. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Clarksville, enjoyed Indiana basketball and traveling to Hawaii and Las Vegas. Mary Helen was preceded in death by husbands Carl Blake and David King, along with daughters Lisa Blake and Julie Blake Gregory. Also preceding her in death, her parents Bernard L. and Verna Gray Thomas, brothers James Leo Thomas, William Thomas, Carl Thomas, David Thomas, sisters Catherine Meneou and Ruth Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Blake-Pearson and son-in-law, Joe Pearson; step-sons, Darius King (Cheryl) and Dean King (Connie); sons-in-law Terry Lawrence and Aubrey Gregory, as well as many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Visitation for Mary Helen will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 780 E. Spring Street, New Albany. Funeral Mass will follow at 2:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 316 N. Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville presided by Fr. Florian Tiell OFM Conv.. Burial will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany.
