Obituary of Mary Lou Eddings Davis
Mary Lou (Eddings) Davis, 85 years of age died Tuesday May 16, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born July 6, 1931 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late John A. and Edna M. (Brady) Eddings and was the widow of Arthur Francis “Dave” Davis. Mary Lou grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was a medical assistant with Dr. Wayne Mayhue’s medical office for many years until her retirement. Mary married the love of her life, Arthur Francis Davis in 1949. The couple settled in Jeffersonville where they raised their two children, John and Francine. Mary was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become Grandma to her five grandchildren and GG to her seven great grandchildren. Mary loved to fish, quilt, garden, paint, shop for shoes and babysit her grandbabies. She was an active member of the Springdale United Methodist Church. Mary was known for her feisty yet good sense of humor and she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings Alton Douglas Eddings, Jewell D. Lewis, Byrl Bryant, and Donald Gene Eddings. Survivors include her children, John D. Davis (Emily), Donna F. Williams; grandchildren, Keith Stricker, Kami Davis, Charlie Ross, Abbey Buckman, Molli Miller; great grandchildren, Iyla and Isabelle Buckman, Kali Davis, Shiloh Miller, Matthew, Kaylie and Sierra Stricker; siblings, Darrell L. Eddings, and JoNell DeArk; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday in the Kraft Charlestown Rd. Chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to www.kraftfs.com
