Mary Bell Bezy

Mary Bell (Ragains) Bezy, 88, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Mary was born in Fredericksburg, Indiana on April 17, 1935 to the late Ward and Mamie Tarr Ragains. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and was a retired bookkeeper with Highland Machine Tool Inc. She was a real estate agent and was a volunteer with the Floyd Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the New Albany Police Auxiliary and Hospice.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Edward Bezy and a brother, George Ragains.

Mary is survived by two children, James Edward Bezy (Joanie Bezy) and Sheri Gahlinger (Alan); four grandsons, Troy Bezy, Jeremy Gahlinger (Mackenzie), Jake Gahlinger and Jordan Gahlinger; three great grandchildren, Cole Bezy, Cash Bezy and Bailey Bezy; a brother, Larry Ragains (Kathy); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12-7 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 10, 2023, on 10:00 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church- Chapel, 3303 St. Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119. Mary will be laid to rest in Saint Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregivers, Ella Burns and T'uana Hanley for the love and care shown to Mary.
