Larry Jack Bailey, age 81, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024. He was born in New Albany, Indiana, to the late John B. and Ollie Bailey on December 28, 1942. Jack served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. During his career, he owned his own business as a surveyor.
Jack enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, and singing karaoke in his spare time.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jackie, and daughter, Cheryl Lea; his siblings, Albert Sr. James T., Kotha, Juanita, Colleen, John, and Martha.
He is survived by his loving companion, Pam; his children, Karola, Julie Shephard (Andy), Lisa Bailey, and Thom Bailey; Pam's daughters, Julie, Erin, and Megan; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ron Bailey; sisters, Sharon Clubb, Lynda Miller (Tim), and Darlene Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his nurse, Chris, who took such good care of him, the Heart Failure Clinic and the VA Hospital.
Donations in Jack's memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project for Veterans.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2023, from 3-8 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 12 PM at the funeral home. Jack will be laid to rest in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
