Kenneth Wayne Froman, 80 years of age passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at his home in Floyds Knobs. He was born October 9, 1936 in Crawford county, IN to the late Floyd and Inez (Smelser) Froman. He was a graduate of New Albany High School, member of Saint Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, former member of the Kentucky Air National Guard, and retired from Wesley Electric Co. in Louisville. He enjoyed family, traveling, and playing chess, but his primary love was playing music and performing for others at local retirement homes and elsewhere. He played mandolin, piano, guitar, and several other instruments, and is now making music with his “angel band in heaven”. Ken was a wonderful husband and father, he supported scouting, 4-H, and many other activities. Along with his parents Ken was preceded in death by his brother Albert Froman.
Remaining to cherish his memory is his wife of 16 years Shirley (Wall) Richie, children; Ronald Froman (Julie), Karen Ehlers (Mike), and Thomas Froman, step-children; Mark Richie, Jean Imlah (Timothy), and Kevin Richie (Maria), grandchildren; Ross, Laura and Kevin Froman, Michael Ehlers Jr., Michelle Nuckols, Jackson Imlah, and two great-grandchildren, sisters; Patty Williams, and Iola Sisson.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
The family would like to give our thanks to Hosparus, Baptist Health Cancer Center, Dr. Okeke, and all others who provided care throughout his battle with cancer.
